Adding to Sammeh's don't put anything on a side table by a chair, for your cat will knock it over. Especially if you have carpet

For my cat i we have this small room that we don't use, i just let my cat walk around in there and i use gates to keep it in there. So, do you you any extra rooms or space where you put a gate or something around? (i just like doing that better then using a cage because it has room to walk around and play, and it won't reck or knock over anything.
